2026 The Year of the Horse: When Clarity Turns Into Action
A year associated with movement, courage, momentum, and decisive action. Where 2025 was about revelation and truth, this one asks a harder question: what are we going to do with what we now know?
For Equitas, this feels familiar.
Because clarity without action changes nothing. And movement, real movement, only happens when people are willing to step forward rather than stay comfortable.
From Knowing to Doing
The symbolism of the Horse is not about speed for the sake of it. It’s about direction. About choosing to move towards something that feels aligned, even when it would be easier to stay where you are.
In recent years, many women across equestrianism have reached a point of awareness. Awareness of inequality. Of outdated systems. Of voices being sidelined. Of the emotional and practical labour women continue to carry in an industry they largely sustain.
That awareness matters. But awareness alone is not enough.
The Year of the Horse represents the shift from recognising what isn’t working to actively changing it. It asks for embodiment. For follow-through. For confidence built not on permission, but on conviction.
Choosing Movement Over Familiarity
There is comfort in familiarity, even when familiarity no longer serves us. The Horse doesn’t linger there. It moves forward, not recklessly, but with intent.
For women in equestrianism, this can look like many things:
- Speaking up where silence was once expected
- Taking up space in leadership, media, and decision-making
- Questioning traditions that prioritise appearance over wellbeing
- Building new structures instead of waiting for old ones to adapt
These are not dramatic gestures. They are practical, often uncomfortable choices. But they are the ones that create momentum.
Confidence Grows Through Action
Confidence is often treated as something you must have before you act. In reality, it is something that grows because you act.
The Horse doesn’t wait until it feels ready. It moves, and readiness follows.
At Equitas, we see this every day. Women stepping forward to write, to lead, to challenge norms, to share their experiences, not because they feel fearless, but because they are committed to change. That commitment creates confidence. Not the other way around.

A Year for Expansion, Not Noise
Expansion doesn’t mean doing more for the sake of it. It means doing what matters, with clarity and purpose.
The Year of the Horse is not about chaos or constant motion. It’s about aligned movement. About ensuring that energy is directed towards systems that support women, not ones that drain them.
This is where Equitas continues to focus: building infrastructure, platforms, and narratives that last.
Now, We Run
The shedding is done. The conversations have been had. The truths are no longer hidden.
2026 asks us to act.
To trust what we already know.
To choose progress over comfort.
To move forward together, with purpose.
Now, we run.
