Applications Now Open for the 2026 Corinthian Challenge at The Curragh
The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund has confirmed that the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race will return in 2026, once again taking place during the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival at The Curragh Racecourse.
Scheduled for Friday, 26 June 2026, the race has become a standout fixture in the racing calendar, combining elite competition, personal challenge, and meaningful fundraising. Since its inception, the Corinthian Challenge has raised approximately €600,000, providing vital support to jockeys whose careers and lives have been impacted by injury.
Applications are now open for those wishing to take on what many past participants describe as one of the most memorable experiences of their lives. Successful applicants will earn the opportunity to ride on the iconic Irish Derby course, experiencing the intensity and discipline of race riding while contributing directly to the work of the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund.
To take part, riders are required to raise a minimum of €3,000 through sponsorship or fundraising. All funds raised go directly to the IIJ. Candidates must also complete an interview process and successfully pass a race riding assessment to qualify through the Racing Academy and Centre of Education (RACE).
