In a powerful demonstration of community solidarity, Endurance Ireland is organizing a trail ride event at Kinnitty Castle to support the upcoming Equestrian Mental Health Summit. This event, set against the scenic backdrop of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, aims to bring together riders of all levels for a day of connection, relaxation, and open dialogue about mental health.

Event Details:

  • Date: August 11th
  • Location: Kinnitty Castle, Slieve Bloom Mountains
  • Trails: Suitable for all levels of riders
  • Objective: To create a sense of community, raise awareness for mental health and support the Equestrian Mental Health Summit
Yvonne Croke from Endurance Ireland shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Endurance Ireland fosters a culture of inclusiveness to ensure that all those who attend can feel a sense of belonging, mirroring Equitas and the HAY Campaign. We hope riders come, take a deep breath, and enjoy the day to talk with like-minded people and feel free to speak openly with no judgment. We will have trails for all levels of riders who can enjoy the beautiful Slieve Blooms and make new connections. We are delighted to be working alongside the Equitas journey in normalising mental health issues and for people to know they are not alone."

The trail ride aligns perfectly with the mission of the Equestrian Mental Health Summit, which aims to create a supportive and stigma-free environment for discussing mental health issues within the equestrian community.

Sarah Elebert, Co-Founder of Equitas, expressed her appreciation for the partnership: "Equitas is honoured to partner with Endurance Ireland in support of the upcoming Equestrian Mental Health Summit. The Kinnitty Castle Trail ride will be the perfect space to connect with your horse, spend time in nature, and gain some all-important headspace in the process."

The HAY Campaign, another key collaborator, highlighted the significance of community support for mental health initiatives. Shane McCarthy, representing the HAY Campaign, remarked, "We are both humbled and excited to see Endurance Ireland organise a Trail Ride in aid of the Equestrian Mental Health Summit. Having support from the community is an important step to create the changes the industry needs for mental health and suicide prevention. The message is clear: let's build bridges toward brighter days. This has to be about creating hope through action. A huge thank you to Yvonne and the wider team at Endurance Ireland for leading the way and backing a monumental event for equestrian mental health on the island of Ireland."

Participants in the trail ride can look forward to a rejuvenating experience that not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters mental health through the joy of riding and the beauty of nature. This event is a testament to the strength and unity of Endurance Ireland, showcasing a collective commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
