Equestrian Coach at Citrus Heights Ranch Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges
TRIGGER WARNING
A 23-year-old equestrian coach from C R Circle Ranch in Citrus Heights has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to alleged sexual misconduct involving a minor. The arrest was made on March 7, 2025, following an investigation by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
According to official reports, the coach, identified as Cruz Solorzano, faces three felony charges, including communicating with a minor with intent to commit a sex offense, penetration by a foreign object, and oral copulation with a minor under 18. A search warrant was executed at the ranch on March 6, leading to Solorzano's arrest. He is currently being held at Sacramento County Main Jail with bail set at $100,000.
C R Circle Ranch, owned by the Solorzano family, has been a well-known facility in the equestrian community for over a decade. The ranch has trained numerous young athletes in trick riding, horse vaulting, aerial silks, and dance. The family also operates the Nu Balance Horse Vaulting Club, which has performed under various names, including Nu Balance, Olympius Dream Team, Imperial Crown, and T-N-B Trick Riders. While the club has had an active presence in the industry, recent checks show that only two of its Facebook pages remain operational.
Additionally, ranch owner Michelle Solorzano and members of the Nu Balance vaulting team have participated in California State Fair's Cavalcade of Horses, an event known for showcasing equestrian talent and horsemanship.
The arrest of Solorzano has raised serious concerns within the equestrian and youth sports communities. Many parents and trainers are urging for stricter background checks and enhanced safety protocols for individuals working with young athletes. Authorities encourage anyone with additional information related to the case to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department as the investigation remains ongoing.
