GAIN The Advantage Series returns for fifth consecutive year

PRESS RELEASE

Horse Racing Ireland has announced the return of the GAIN The Advantage Series for its fifth consecutive year. This highly anticipated Flat racing series will begin on June 12 at Leopardstown Racecourse and will consist of seven exhilarating legs across seven different tracks, culminating in a spectacular finale at Naas Racecourse on September 18.

The series will also feature legs at Ballinrobe, Navan, Down Royal, Tipperary, and Killarney racecourses. Last year's champion, Paul Flynn, targeted the series and secured three impressive wins, finishing the series with a total of 36 points.

GAIN Equine Nutrition remains committed to supporting the flat racing sector through GAIN The Advantage Series by increasing prize money by 50% from base level in all races. This enhancement reflects the ongoing efforts to support owners, trainers, grooms, and breeders who are integral to the success of the racing and breeding industry in Ireland.

To further recognise and reward those who play a vital role in the industry, the trainer who emerges at the top of the GAIN The Advantage Series League Table will receive €5,000 worth of GAIN Equine Nutrition feed.

In addition, the grooms of the winning horses will be entered into a special draw for the opportunity to win an overnight hotel stay in Ireland. Breeders of winning horses in each race will be celebrated with a framed photograph of their horse and will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one tonne of GAIN Equine Nutrition products.

With the start of the 2025 series just around the corner, anticipation is building for what promises to be another action-packed season celebrating talent and dedication in Irish Flat racing.

Philip Gilligan, Irish Country Manager, GAIN Equine Nutrition, said: “As we embark on the fifth year of the GAIN The Advantage Series, we are more committed than ever to supporting the thoroughbred racing and bloodstock industries, which are vital to our business.

“The series’ inclusive approach, recognising the contributions of all stakeholders, from owners, breeders to stable staff, has been key to its success. We are excited to see the competitive spirit and dedication that the series continues to inspire. On behalf of the GAIN Equine Nutrition team, I extend our best wishes to all connections involved. Here’s to another thrilling and successful season ahead!”

Vicki Donlon, Commercial Manager, HRI Racecourses, commented: “The GAIN The Advantage Series has become a key element of the racing calendar to support small to medium size trainers, their focus on promoting and rewarding our industry stakeholders in this area has been consistently positively received by all and in return the support of this series has seen consistent growth.

“We are very grateful to GAIN Equine Nutrition for their recognition and support of the stakeholders of our industry and delighted that it is evolving annually to suit the needs and feedback from the industry.”

Trainer Andy Slattery, a previous series winner, commented: “Winning the top prize in the GAIN The Advantage Series can make a substantial impact for a trainer. The quality of nutrition provided by GAIN is essential to the health and performance of our horses, and this prize will undoubtedly help trainers like me to elevate our standards and increase our competitive edge.”
