Pony Stars Showcase 2025: Connecting Ireland’s Elite Ponies with National and International Buyers

The Pony Stars Showcase returns on 27th October 2025 at Killossory Lodge, Dublin, bringing together Ireland’s elite performance ponies, trusted agents, and serious buyers — all in one place, on one day. Created and co-managed by Meryl Connaughton, a respected event horse agent, the Showcase was established to bring greater transparency, structure, and opportunity to the pony sales market. What began as a practical idea to simplify the buying process has quickly grown into one of Ireland’s most anticipated curated equestrian events.
A Curated Sales Experience
The Pony Stars Showcase is not an auction. Instead, it’s a carefully managed, curated sales event dedicated to eventing ponies. It gives buyers the chance to view and trial a hand-picked selection of proven competition ponies and promising young prospects in a professional, unpressurised setting. Each pony is showcased on the flat and over fences, providing a clear picture of its ability and temperament. Buyers can then arrange ridden trials onsite in the afternoon, supported by an experienced sales team that guides the next steps privately and efficiently.
For Riders, Parents, Coaches and Agents
For those searching for their next partner — whether riders, parents, or coaches — the Showcase offers the rare chance to view and try multiple quality ponies in one venue, on one day. The event’s trusted and transparent sales process ensures that both pony and rider find the right match, supported by professionals who understand the demands of the sport.
For Owners and Vendors
For pony owners, breeders, or agents, the Showcase provides a professional, high-profile platform to present ponies to serious buyers. It’s a chance to gain visibility among national and international connections and to attract buyers actively searching for proven and promising event ponies.
Designed for International Reach
Held at Killossory Lodge, just minutes from Dublin Airport, the venue offers exceptional accessibility — a deliberate choice that makes it easy for international buyers to travel in, view ponies, and complete purchases efficiently. The location, combined with the event’s format and reputation, positions the Pony Stars Showcase as a uniquely practical hub for global equestrian trade and collaboration.
Led by Experience and Insight
The Pony Stars Showcase is co-founded and managed by Meryl Connaughton and Becky Cullen — two women whose experience spans every corner of the sport.
Meryl, a respected event horse agent, brings a professional understanding of the market and a personal connection through her son Rory, who competes at FEI 2* level. Her insight into what young riders need and what owners seek has shaped the Showcase’s transparent and supportive approach.
Alongside her, Becky Cullen brings decades of top-level expertise as a HSI Level 3 Coach, international 5* event rider, and former High Performance Manager for the Irish Pony Team, where she guided riders to multiple European medals. Becky continues to compete and coach while supporting her daughter Kitty, who placed 10th at the 2025 Pony European Championships in Le Mans.
Together, Meryl and Becky combine a wealth of professional experience and lived understanding — as agents, athletes, and mothers to competitive young riders. Their shared vision is simple: to create a professional, accessible space that connects quality ponies with the right riders, while nurturing the next generation of equestrian talent.
