Santa Anita Park Confirmed as Equestrian Venue for LA28 Olympic Games

Santa Anita Park has officially been confirmed as the venue for the equestrian events at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28), as announced by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI).
Situated just outside the Los Angeles city area, Santa Anita Park is no stranger to Olympic history, having previously hosted equestrian events during the 1984 Olympic Games.
Speaking on the announcement, FEI President Ingmar De Vos said...“Santa Anita Park will be a spectacular venue for the LA28 Olympic equestrian events,” and highlighted the FEI’s “very fond memories” of the iconic site.
The venue, which boasts a 340-metre-long grandstand with seating for 26,000 spectators, spans an impressive 130 hectares. Its infield area, landscaped with large trees and picnic tables, can accommodate up to 50,000 visitors. With 61 barns capable of housing over 2,000 horses and an on-site veterinary clinic, Santa Anita is well-equipped to host the full scope of Olympic equestrian disciplines.
Well-known in the world of Thoroughbred racing, Santa Anita has hosted major events such as the Breeders’ Cup and was the scene of Seabiscuit’s final victory in 1940. It also plays a regular role in the international equestrian calendar, hosting a CSI3* and a FEI Jumping World Cup™ Qualifier CSI5*-W each year.
The venue for the Para Equestrian competitions at the LA28 Paralympic Games is still to be confirmed, pending review and approval by the International Paralympic Committee Governing Board.
The LA28 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from 14 to 30 July 2028, with the Paralympic Games following from 15 to 27 August.
