This is it. This is our Moment!
For weeks I have been thinking about what to write as my piece for the first ever edition of Equitas. It is a historic moment; it is history making and life changing. It obviously means a great deal to me… I don’t want to let the people I am surrounded by down… my partner Marie who has designed this beautiful magazine, my mum, my two sisters, my co-founders, our amazing advisory group and of course our wonderful writers for Edition 1.
It got me thinking though… Most of all, the group I really didn’t want to leave down is ALL OF YOU!! You are the reason we set up Equitas. The women across the world who have been waiting for Justice, Fairness and Equity for all… and for a long time before I was born, generations in fact. Well, that changes now.
July 1st 2022 will go down in history as the day we started our journey together to the summit of Everest, creating a level playing field for the generations to come where Equity, Respect, Positivity and Emotional Intelligence are at the forefront of our industry, leadership teams and our worldwide women's movement.
I went a little deeper in my thoughts and decided that in my first ever article for Equitas, I wanted to speak from my heart to you all. Last week I had the honour of being named the CEO of Equitas. That is a privilege I can never and will never take for granted. To be trusted by my co-founders to lead what we hope (and deep down, know) will one day be the world's biggest equine media brand, online magazine and movement for women is one of my proudest moments. I believe in my heart and soul that THIS IS OUR MOMENT and I will do everything in my power to make sure we deliver what women across the world want through our Equitas Media Brand and Movement.

I won’t sit here writing this and pretend as a male, I know what you go through on a daily basis, what you’ve been through over the years or how this has affected you… but I will say moving forward that Equitas will be a platform that gives women all over the world a voice and a place to be both listened to and heard. We are building a platform to connect you, inspire you, educate you and support you. We want to listen; we want to learn and we want to be able to proactively represent women in equestrian communities all over the world… at all levels, in all disciplines and all treated with compassion and respect.

This is our moment, this is our chance, this is our time!! We are here… the moment you have fought for, wished for, manifested, and dreamed about is here.
Equitas will be the catalyst for change that the equine industry across the world needs and that women deserve. We will create a future where women see themselves as role models, where young girls feel safe, inspired and empowered to reach their full potential and have an unwavering belief that they can join us all at the top of Everest.
For us at Equitas, it is about doing what is right, what is just, and what is fair. It is about playing a role in a worldwide movement and getting as many people to believe in our collective vision of a better and more balanced world where Justice, Fairness and Equity is not only understood but embraced by males and females across the world and especially those in leadership roles.
#TheEquitasGeneration is a movement… our goal is to build tribes of women supporting each other, building each other up, being there for each other, being a positive influence and role model for other women and pushing the industry forward in the most progressive and positive way we can.
This is our moment to redesign the future, to create monumental change, to reset the foundations of the industry and send out a message to equine communities around the world, that the time for change is here, it has arrived and we will be this voice for change.

My ask today to women across the world in the equine industry and beyond, is to join us, to be part of #TheEquitasGeneration, to support us, to support you and create the changes we all want to see. Let’s not limit ourselves and our vision, let's embrace the challenge ahead and Empower Change, Together. We are on the cusp of change; it is right in front of us but we have to come together to achieve it; we have to support each other to embrace it and together, we will transform the equine industry for all the generations that follow.

We would love women across the equine industry all around the world to join us on the journey, it is a monumental task but we would not have set out on this journey if we did not believe in our hearts and soul that we can “be the change we want to see in the world”. We have a real sense of purpose, a clear vision, worldwide support is building and we get stronger with every week that goes by.
At first, there is a ripple, then a wave, and then a tidal wave of change starts occurring. We want you to join us and be part of #TheEquitasGeneration. We want you to build and lead your own Equitas tribes in every corner of the earth and we will be there for you and support you and back you!!
