Women Dominate the CDI3* FEI Grand Prix at AGDF

Wellington, FL – February 28, 2025 – Female riders took command of the CDI3 FEI Grand Prix*, sponsored by Mission Control, at the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF), securing the top five positions. Great Britain’s Susan Pape led the way, claiming victory aboard Harmony’s Giulilanta with a personal best score of 71.304%.
The 14-year-old Jazz x Flemmingh mare impressed with a series of eights in piaffe, passage, and canter pirouettes, marking a significant milestone in her career after a two-year break due to injury.
“I’m over the moon because it’s been such a long journey with Giulilanta,” said Pape. “She was ready to go Grand Prix, then had a severe injury that sidelined her for two years. To have her back and performing like this is incredible.”
Strong Performances Across the Board
Germany’s Evelyn Eger secured second place with 70.609% aboard Dancing Darkness 4, an 11-year-old Dancier x Sandro Hit mare making her CDI debut. The youngest horse in the class, Dancing Darkness 4 caught the attention of two judges, who placed the pair at the top of their rankings.
Callie O’Connell (USA) completed the podium with 69.283%, setting a new personal best with Eaton H, a 16-year-old Wynton x San Remo gelding. The horse, previously campaigned by Christoph Koschel, transitioned to O’Connell in 2023 for Under-25 competitions before making the leap to the senior ranks.
Looking Ahead
Pape and Giulilanta are set to compete in the CDI3 Grand Prix Special* on Saturday before returning to Europe for a break.
“I never plan too far ahead—I take it month by month,” Pape added. “She may not be the biggest mover, but her elegance makes her special. She’s really taught me patience and how to ride with a calm, thoughtful approach.”
With a strong showing from female athletes in this event, the AGDF continues to highlight the depth of talent in international dressage as the 2025 season unfolds.
